Four bodies-two women and two men-were discovered in a compound in southeast Afghanistan by Afghan and NATO forces.  The women found were bound and gagged.   As the Afghan and NATO troops approached the compound, they were immediately fired at and a gun battle began, causing many to flee.

On October 20, Noor Faleh Almaleki, a 20 year old Iraqi women living in the Arizona suburb of Peoria, was ran over by her father, Faleh Hassan Almaleki, for becoming ‘too westernized.’ She has since died from the injuries sustained by her father although they were not initially reported as being life threatening.

In Arkansas, Curtis Lavelle Vance has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the brutal rape and murder of morning TV news anchor, Anne Pressly.  He was convicted of capital murder, rape, and burglary. In October 2008,  Pressly was found beaten and unconscious in her home and she died 5 days later from the injuries sustained from the attack [via CNN].

It has been a rough month for California. According to an affidavit made public yesterday, 14-year-old Raul Renato Castro has been charged with murder, child molestation, sodomy, kidnapping, and murder of a witness to prevent testimony after the assault of his 4-year-old neighbor that resulted in the child’s death. Investigators claim that Castro lured the young boy into his empty apartment, sexually assaulted the toddler in the bathroom, then drowned him in the bathtub when he became frightened that his victim would tell his mother.

A couple days ago I posted about the six remains found in the Cleveland home of a convicted sex offender. Well, if six bodies weren’t horrific enough… up that number to ELEVEN. The most recent reports claim that the remains of 11 victims have been found in Anthony Sowell’s home.
