it’s march?!

It seemed like, last semester, things flew by because we were preoccupied first with getting GCNova organized, then with getting our first fundraising drive underway. Now, after taking a much-needed break in January, it seems as though February lasted about five minutes! It’s March, and Villanova will officially be back from spring break on Monday, March 8.

Which means, it’s about time GCNova gets back in action.

A women is facing charges of prostitution for an ad that she placed on Craigslist.  Susan Finkelstein offered sex to an undercover police officer and sent him topless photos.  She was hoping to get tickets to the World Series.

Four bodies-two women and two men-were discovered in a compound in southeast Afghanistan by Afghan and NATO forces.  The women found were bound and gagged.   As the Afghan and NATO troops approached the compound, they were immediately fired at and a gun battle began, causing many to flee.

Human rights advocate, Aaron Cohen, wants to expose Cambodia’s long existing problem of child sex trafficking in Cambodia, an issue that has been virtually swept under the rug.  For years Cohen has been working undercover in the sex trafficking underbelly in order to gain useful information necessary to make arrests of those trafficking women and children.  While Cohen’s fight to stop sex trafficking has taken him around the world, he notes that South Asia is one of the worst and most tragic of cases.
